Upgrades/Extras - Engine - Intercooler Upgrades

Engine power and efficiency, is directly affected, by the temperature of the air that enters the cylinders - the lower the temperature the better. If you can drop the temperature of the air going into the cylinders, you increase the power and efficiency of the engine - without using extra fuel.

For engines' with a turbo, then during normal operation, the turbo heats up the incoming air to maybe 40-70°C above ambient temperature. This temperature increase, badly affects power and efficiency. Greater 'boost pressure' creates bigger problems, as this gives a further increase in temperature.

The purpose of an intercooler, is to drop the temperature of the air leaving the turbo, to nearer ambient temperature, thus helping the problem. To this end, the bigger the intercooler the better! Unfortunately, the standard intercoolers on LandRover vehicles are not particularly large.

Stag 4x4 has the solution. Our custom designed intercoolers are much larger than standard, giving far greater cooling to the air, dropping the temperature and allowing the engine to make more power!
